Keltic Transportation Inc. has had a presence in the Greater Moncton Area since 1997. Currently located at 90 MacNaughton Avenue in the Caledonia Industrial Park, this full load carrier has built a solid reputation over the past decade as one of the premiere transportation service providers in Atlantic Canada. The year 2007 saw a brand new project for Keltic, in the form of a 40,000 sq. ft., state-of-the-art building erected on 5 acres, with another 6 acres earmarked with a view to increased growth in the future. The facility was designed based on the needs of their customers (who require high security systems & peace of mind!), and the needs of their people. Through a specially designed access system, the drivers & staff have access – 24/7 – to a space created to accommodate many of their needs, especially when coming in off the road. Situated along the TransCanada Highway, Keltic is advantageously located with quick and easy access to Harrisville Blvd, to Highway 15, and to the Greater Moncton International Airport as well as to other neighbouring industrial parks in the area. It is with that same sense of accountability to the community that Keltic addresses environmental issues such as greenhouse emissions by exploring new technologies in the reduction of fuel consumption. For example, the installation of Auxiliary Power Units (APU) on vehicles and equipment is just one area of change currently being implemented by this company. “We have invested in the best equipment for our drivers, which promotes efficiency. Along with the APU installs, Sensor Tracs are also becoming part of our environmental plan. These devises help both the drivers and mangers monitor how well a unit is performing, which in turn guides the decision making process. Additionally, each tractor is connected to home base via satellite, creating another efficiency plus.
